Since 1923 MRJ, Men of Reform Judaism (formerly National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods), has helped Reform Jewish men find identity, involvement, and inspiration through fuller participation in their local temple community and through involvement with larger societal issues and concerns.
In an effort to engage in projects and activities that provide meaningful services our congregation; to sponsor and promote vitally important nationwide community-building projects; and to give members the opportunity to explore and celebrate their male Jewish spirit, our Brotherhood sponsors a wide range of activities such as:
- Judaic Studies Lecture Chair at Molloy College (Theology 263)
- Shabbat Dinners
- Sponsorship of Boy Scout Troop 214 and Cub Scout Pack 31
- trips to Places of Jewish Interest
- Softball Team
- health Care Symposium Programs
- recognition gifts to our Confirmands, high school graduates, and bar and bat mitzvah youth
- Holocaust Memorial Candles Program for our children in religious school
- Sunday Morning Breakfast Forums
- Annual Billiards Night
- financial support of Central Synagogue, its programs and youth activities
- social events and outings
- Man of the Year Dinner
- Winter Saturday Night Social
AND SO MUCH MORE!
So come out and join and be a part of this active group of men. Please help us keep our Brotherhood email list updated. Send us an e-mail message with your e-mail address in the body. This list is separate from the temple's general email list and is used exclusively for Brotherhood notices.
