Co-Presidents: Nancy Schnee and Teresa Armellino Richman
PTC (Parent Teacher Council) is an organization dedicated to enriching the religious life of our children. The PTC board is comprised of two co-presidents who work in conjunction with the Education Committee and the Director of the Religious School. The organization’s membership is open to any and all Central Synagogue members. Direct participation in our religious school is perhaps one of the most rewarding functions of PTC:
- PTC supports the Gail Schwartz Learning Center, and has established a lending library in the learning center that provides the teachers with a wide range of literature relating the Jewish experience.
- We provide gifts to the religious school each year, and have established a SUNDAY MORNING PARKING SCHEDULE and a Parking Lot Safety Committee that you see in action on Sunday mornings when you drop off your children.
- PTC also supports the activities of our youth groups by supplementing the expense of various activities.
- PTC organizes and sponsors the annual Purim carnival, model seders and other Passover programs, and enrichment programs for the children of our religious school.
- And we work closely with the religious school director to provide assistance in organizing activities for Sunday morning programs. We also sponsor a Teacher Recognition Shabbat and Teacher Recognition Breakfast, where we present our faculty and student aides with a gift of appreciation.
This is just some of what PTC does throughout the school year . . . and it is our hope that we, as parents and teachers, can work together to give our children a rich and exciting religious school experience. It is our further hope that all of the religious school families will join PTC and continue to see it thrive.
PTC is happy to accept donations in honor of your child's becoming bar or bat mitzvah, in appreciation of a teacher, or in memory of a loved one.
